INCC Perpetual Calendar — The Annus Novus Decimal Calendar
In accordance with Article §33 of the Constitutional Charter, the official calendar of the Interterritorial Nation of Cosmic Consciousness is the Annus Novus — the Calendar of the New Cosmic Civilization. The use of A.N. dates, in addition to the corresponding Common Era (Gregorian) dates, is mandatory in all official government documents of the INCC.
Structure of the Annus Novus Calendar
The Annus Novus Decimal Calendar divides the seasonal year into ten months, alternating between 36 and 37 days. This decimal structure reflects the INCC's commitment to clarity, symmetry and rational design in all aspects of national life.
The calendar uses a five-day week, providing a consistent rhythm that differs from the conventional seven-day cycle. The days of the week in the INCC calendar bear their own distinct names, as defined in our national chronology.
A leap year occurs every fourth year, coinciding with Gregorian leap years. In leap years, a one-day month called Intercalarius is inserted immediately following the tenth month. Intercalarius is excluded from the weekly cycle, ensuring that the calendar remains perpetual — each date falls on the same day of the week every year.
Dual Dating System
The INCC employs a dual dating system in all official communications: Annus Novus dates are given alongside their Common Era equivalents. For example, the signing of the Constitution is recorded as:
2022-04-27 CE (Wednesday) = 10541-04-08 A.N. (Secundi)
This dual system ensures that the Nation maintains its own distinct temporal identity while remaining accessible and comprehensible to the international community.
